Whitewater Rafting in Alpine, WY
One of our favorite things to do in the summer in Wyoming is to spend time on the Snake River. Considered to be one of the most beautiful and pristine rivers in the United States, our local Snake River welcomes 300,000 visitors a year and is the perfect way to cool down on a hot day, to spot a bald eagle up in the treetops or a moose on the bank, and satisfy your sense of adventure. While the river begins as a scenic float starting at Jackson Lake and meandering to the town of Wilson, it morphs into eight miles of thrilling class II and III rapids into the town of Alpine, WY and the home to Alpine Valley RV Resort.
We are excited to announce that our sister company, Dave Hansen Whitewater, is now launching whitewater rafting trips out of Alpine, WY, allowing you the opportunity to avoid driving to Jackson for a river trip and save hours in your day. Dave Hansen will pick you up right here at Alpine Valley RV Resort and drop you off after your adventure-filled day.
What does a day of whitewater rafting on the Snake River look like? First, your comfortable abode will be a custom made, state of the art Aire raft that can hold up to 16 people with 8-10 seats for those interested in paddling. Next, you will journey down the class II-III Snake River with stunning canyon scenery, many calming stretches and the two biggest waves on the river, Big Kahuna and Lunch Counter (both named after Dave Hasen himself). Your guide will teach you how to sit, padde and stroke as you laugh your way down the river. Warning, you will get wet!
