Lower and Upper Palisades Lake Hike
Alpine, Wyoming is a hiker’s paradise. If you’re looking for a beautiful hike during your stay at Alpine Valley RV Resort, the Upper and Lower Palisades Lake hike is worth your while, full of pristine views and outdoor serenity.
The trailhead begins next to the Palisades Creek Campground, just across from the Wyoming and Idaho state line. The hike to the Lower Palisades Lake is a moderate 9.9 mile out and back hike with approximately 1,000 feet of total elevation gain. While it is a long hike, it is relatively flat with bridge crossings and possible wildlife spottings. Make sure to pack a picnic to enjoy at the lake, swim in small alcoves along the shore, and marvel at the giant boulders along the trail.
If you’re looking for an extra challenge, continue your hike up to Upper Palisades Lake (it will certainly worth the sweat). The Upper Lake adds a few additional miles of hiking and elevation gain from the lower lake. If venturing to the Upper Lake, be sure to stay on the trail and consider carrying a GPS or mapping app to help guide your way. The pristine sparking turquoise water at Upper Palisades Lake makes the journey priceless.
